To me, animals and little kids are pretty similar. I'm so used to dogs that I'll call out to a kid in the same way I call out to dogs, haha. I've only ever seen a kid on a leash maybe two or three times, but I think it's funny.
I'm sorry, I couldn't help but laugh at how you put this...
I would never carry my dog like that...ever... I will admit, I bought the little toddler backpack/leashes after my daughters started jumping in front of cars in the parking lot and shouting "STOP!" When you have multiple small children, having one or two out of three run away can be a problem. But we didn't have to use them very long. They learned to stay close to mommy if they didn't want to have to wear it. Better that then dead.
I don't know if I could put a leash on my future kid like that.

What the heck? Kid on a leash, pups on baby slings???
lol... ridiculous... it still boggles my mind when i see parents using those kid leashes.
As a parent, I see the common sense in the leash. I like how they try to make it "cute" as if to cover up what the product is really about. "Hey! My kid has a backpack that's adorable and a handy strap for me to pull on when they wander too far!
lol It's so hysterically sad. *facepalm*
I need to get one of those monkey leashes for my bitch. Bitch be runnin' wild.
LOL that pic made me remember the little kiddo (1-2 yrs?) I saw running away from his mother when we drove past by.. His facial expression was priceless! He looked so determined.. like he could actually escape LOL
